The problems that jumped off the page for me were those involving the charging of an EV car. Right at this moment, according to the article, 88% of the charging stations available to the public require between four and 10 hours to charge an EV car. At this moment, I can drive into a gas station and fill up my car in about five minutes leaving that pump ready for the next driver. Many of your larger stations can accommodate 18 cars or more at one time. The gas station could process 864 cars in the same time that 18 charging stations process 18 EV cars and that’s at the best case scenario of having an EV car charged in only 4 hours. You could charge your car at home but consider the cost of the charger at about $1,000 R...

Denver brewery spoofs New Belgium’s Fat Tire with its own Re-Tired Amber Ale

Published Mon, 10 Mar 2025 00:40:05 GMT

You won’t see many amber ales on menus at craft beer bars these days, and very few people are clamoring for the latest amber when they head to the liquor store. But the lighter, malty style has been the backbone of the craft-beer industry – especially in Colorado – since the late ‘80s and early ‘90s when ambers were at the height of their popularity. So it was a somewhat undignified ending for one of the most famous ambers when Fort Collins-founded New Belgium Brewing revealed in January that its flagshipo Fat Tire would not longer look or taste the way it had since hitting the market in 1991 and inspiring a million knock-offs.Related: 8 Colorado-made amber ales to feed your Fat Tire cravingsAs a tribute to the Fat Tire, Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project in Denver released its own hoppy amber ale on Wednesday, pointedly called Re-Tired and featuring a similar bicycle on the label, along with the same colors and design elements of the New Belgium beer.More than 30 years after New Bel...
